Most Individuals (Non–Self-Employed)

April 30, 2026:

  • File your 2025 personal income tax return.
  • Pay any balance owing for 2025 taxes.

Note: If you or your spouse/common-law partner passed away during the year, filing deadlines may differ. Refer to CRA guidance for final return due dates.

Individuals with Self-Employment Income

April 30, 2026:

Deadline to pay any tax owing.

June 15, 2026:

Deadline to file your 2025 personal income tax return if you or your spouse/common-law partner are self-employed.

Note: Special provisions apply for deceased persons; consult CRA guidance if applicable.

March 2, 2026:

  • File T4/T5 slips for the 2025 calendar year.
  • Employers must issue slips to employees and the CRA by this date.
  • February 28, 2026, falls on a Saturday, so the deadline is adjusted to the next business day.

General Guidance

  • Corporate income tax returns (T2) are due six months after the corporation’s fiscal year-end.
  • Example: A December 31, 2025 year-end → T2 filing due June 30, 2026.
  • CRA typically extends deadlines to the next business day if they fall on weekends or holidays.

T4 and T5 Slips

  • March 2, 2026: Deadline to file T4/T5 information returns for the 2025 year.
  • Registered charities must submit Form T3010 annually, within six months of their fiscal year-end.
  • Example: December 31, 2025 year-end → filing deadline June 30, 2026.
  • T4 slips are due March 2, 2026.
  • Must file T2 Corporate Income Tax Return annually.
  • May also need to file T1044 Non-Profit Organization Information Return depending on circumstances.
  • Federally incorporated NPOs with revenue over $250,000 may require an audit.
  • T4 slips are due March 2, 2026.
  • Filing depends on the type of partners:
    • March 31, 2026: If all partners are individuals.
    • Five months after fiscal year-end: If all partners are corporations.
    • Other cases: Earliest of March 31, 2026, or five months after fiscal year-end.
  • Deadlines are extended to the next business day if they fall on a weekend or CRA-recognized holiday.
  • Contribution deadline for 2025 tax year: March 2, 2026.
  • Last day to contribute to your own RRSP: December 31 of the year you turn 71.
  • Contribution limit: Lesser of 18% of previous year’s pre-tax earnings or CRA annual maximum, plus any unused room carried forward.
